out to sea

On of the luxuries of living on an island is there's no shortage of beaches and ocean. Just add sunshine and you have the stuff dreams are made of!

Saturday we made the decision to move the boat back down to saltwater and out of the Brisbane river. It was actually really hard living at Kangaroo Point. The water was dirty, the neighbors were weird, the place was loud... and so on. It also took us 3 hours to sail to the ocean and we could only do it when the tide was high. We were at KP so I could study yoga at The Gabba and we could explore the city. Well the city has been conquered and only one month to go at the gabba(gulp)! So back down to Moreton Bay and the Turquoise salt water.
The weather was perfect for the sail out of the river. We anchored at a new site of an Island that once was a prison:) It was peaceful so we decided to spend the night, then woke up to crazy wind and waves. No worries, just pull up the anchor and move to a better bay! We found one (after accidentally getting ourselves into less than 5 meters of water) and spent a calm windless afternoon. I put up the hammock and Lucas went fishing. It was a lovely lazy day.
Soon it was time to head back to the marina. We joined a flotilla of sail boats heading in after a day of racing. I felt like we were in a parade.

Everybody together

Everybody together are the first two words on my teacher training dialogue script. The script is 22 pages double sided. I have to memorize the whole thing, word for word, to do a class and graduate.... I have until November 18th. Gulp!

exhausted

We actually do a lot of work here for 2 people who aren't working. We woke up early (that would be the royal we) and studied, then went to the Aussie market and back to work on the boat. I just got home from walking to and from Bikrams and doing a class. I'm beat!

The Movies

I'm trying to set time off as a priority right now. It's true I'm not employed, but I'm trying to treat Bikrams like a job, since it will be someday. In training we will be doing double classes 6 days a week I bumped my schedule up to 2 a days, 4 days a week in preperation. It was intense!
Yesterday and today I'm taking a Yoga break and trying to see Brisbane. We ended up at Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday and a nice sushi lunch. I have to admit my body is grateful for a rest:)

Macdonalds

I have started to change my diet to train for yoga. Yesterday I had just an apple for breakfast then went off to class. While walking home for my 45 minuets all I could think of was "in the US a 45 minuets walk would have at least on Macdonalds so I could stop and get some chicken nuggets" Sheesh....

Practice makes perfect and perfect practice makes more perfect

I have bumped my practice up to 2 a day! This means I spend 3 hours a day in a room heated to 105 and 40% humidity. I have also adapted an new "Bengal tiger strength and bulldog determination" philosophy... It's time. On the 3 month countdown to Bikrams Teacher Training:)
